LMS Coronation 4-6-2 No 46227 Duchess of Devonshire with the up 'Royal Scot' passing Motherwell. This is most likely the summer of 1952 with the train being composed of the new BR mk 1 stock and 46227 still with sloping smokebox and thus still in blue livery.
