6233 1939 near Carlisle

Coronation Pacific No 6233 Duchess of Sutherland near Calthwaite, south of Carlisle, with the Up ‘Mid-Day Scot’ in 1938. It was allocated to Camden from new until May 1944.

The leading two vehicles are LNWR cove roof 6 wheel combination trucks or Milk/Fish vans and appear to be in unlined red livery with LMS centrally on the left panel of the left sliding door and running numbers at the bottom left. The leading one has a X in a circle on the bottom right denoting it is restricted from the Wapping tunnel if I remember correctly. Later this sign was used to designate condemned stock.
