North Eastern Railway designed Raven/Gresley 'A8' class 4-6-2 Tank No. 69888. Built at Darlington in May 1934 as LNER No. 1329, a rebuilt of a class 'H1' 4-4-4 Tank and withdrawn in October 1958.

Oh dear! Some difficulty is being experienced by poor 69888. She's in a seemingly semi-dismantled state in July 1953 at the south end of York MPD but quite why this work is being done 'al fresco' we will never know!
