Ex-LNER Gresley 'A8' class 4-6-2 Tank No. 69888. Built at Darlington in May 1934 as LNER No. 1329 and withdrawn in October 1958.

The attractive town of Malton is about mid-way between York and the Yorkshire coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. It was an excellent place to see a good variety of locomotives on all kinds of workings, especially in the summer months and holiday weekends. 69888 is eastbound in April 1955 and will have a choice of routes within a mile of leaving Malton. Russells & Wrangham's brewery in Castlegate was a local landmark from 1771 until demolished in 1985.
