31737 1954-08 Preston Park
No details on this negative sleeve other than ‘Preston Park, August 1954’ but this is on the Hastings/Eastbourne/Brighton portion of the through Birkenhead service which 31737 would have worked as far as Redhill.
This D Class No 31737 (built 1901), following withdrawal in October 1956, was taken into the national railway collection and restored to original SECR condition. It now resides in the National Railway Museum at York.
