47205 1953-07 Kentish Town MPD

Ex-Midland Railway Johnson '2441' (LMS '3F') class 0-6-0 Condensing Tank No. 47205. Built by Vulcan Foundry of Newton-le-Willows in December 1899 as MR No. 2446 and withdrawn in September 1959.

Beside the concrete coaling tower in July 1953 at Kentish Town MPD, condensing 0-6-0 Tank 47205 is perhaps waiting its turn for a helping of the black stuff! Antecedents of Fowler's 3F 'Jinties', the first thirty had condensing equipment from new for working the sub-surface lines in London between the various goods depots.
