1002 1950s Truro
An excellent shot of Penzance allocated 1002 " County of Berks " on Truro's turntable , this engine being one of the three " Counties " allocated to Penzance in the mid ' fifties .
It is interesting to note that at that time the thirty members of the class were spread over eight Motive Power Depots , ranging from Penzance and Truro in the far west to Shrewsbury , Chester and Neyland in the north.
Bristol Bath Road and Shrewsbury shared the honours of having the most , each shed being allocated six " Counties " , the remainder being at Swindon (2) , Laira (4) and Chester (3)
