63818 1964-07-11 Doncaster North Junction

Great Central Railway designed Robinson 'O4/8' class 2-8-0 No. 63818. Built by NBL of Glasgow in July 1918 as ROD No. 1936, to LNER stock in February 1924 as LNER No. 6264 and withdrawn in April 1966.

Plodding into the outskirts of Doncaster, 63818 is coming south along the ex-GNR main line. The lines in the foreground are the ex-GCR/GNR joint route to Leeds Central via Wakefield Westgate. Allocated to Doncaster, 63818 was one of the last survivors of this historic class when withdrawn in April 1966.
