63832 1957 Mexborough shed

63832 1957 Mexborough shed

Mexborough MPD (ex-MS&LR/GCR) had always been a freight only shed since its opening in 1875. Two of it's 1957 allocation are appropriately a pair of the wonderful John Robinson designed '8K' (LNER 'O4') 2-8-0s No. 63832 is receiving some TLC and behind is sister engine 63756. Neither served the GCR but were built by NBL of Glasgow for military use by the ROD, 63832 in Feb. 1919 and 63756 in Jan. 1918 and were subsequently acquired by the LNER. Withdrawal for 63832 came in Dec. 1962 and in June 1959 for 63756.
