Ex-LNER Gresley 'D49/1' class 4-4-0 'Berkshire'. Built at Darlington in March 1929 as LNER No. 2755 and withdrawn in December 1958.

This 'D49' will probably be heading a 'local' train from York to Harrogate. Sadly, I am (just!) old enough to remember the class on my many visits to York. Unfortunately, they were not working but stored awaiting their fate with sacked-over chimneys in York South's old roundhouses. This I discovered after a (highly) illicit dash across the running lines!
