Ex-LMS Stanier 'Coronation' class 4-6-2 No. 46251 'City of Nottingham'. Built at Crewe in June 1944 as LMS No. 6251 and withdrawn in October 1964.

It will be only another five months before 46251 is withdrawn. Her workings are now often freight turns as seen here at Lancaster Castle Station in May 1964. Noticeably, Crewe North shed maintain her external appearance in fine fettle in spite of being largely relegated from express duties.
