Ex-LMS Fowler/Stanier 'Rebuilt Royal Scot' class 4-6-0 No. 46118 'Royal Welch Fusilier'. Built by NBL of Glasgow in November 1927 and withdrawn in June 1964.

With a lengthy Crewe to Carlisle freight, smartly turned out 46118 heads north in April 1964 at Barton, some six miles north of Preston. On the right, with their bikes propped against the boundary fence a group of three youngsters, sit happily on the embankment. No doubt they will be checking to see if the locomotive is a 'cop'!
