Ex-LMS Fowler '4F' class 0-6-0 No. 44468. Built at St. Rollox in May 1928 as LMS No. 4468 and withdrawn in September 1964.

This rural scene taken in July 1963 on the northern approach to Preston has now (inevitably) been eradicated. Housing estates now line both sides of the railway masking the distant views of the West Lancashire Pennine hills. 44468, one of the sixty '4Fs' built at St. Rollox heads south with a lengthy van freight.
