60033 1950s York
A classic 1950s scene at York Station with 'Seagull' heading north with the down 'Elizabethan'. How long is it since we saw young 'spotters' wearing; shorts socks and sandals? This period footwear was rather more cost-effective than today's trendy trainers I'd venture!
60033 was built at Doncaster in June 1938 as LNER No. 4902 and would be withdrawn in Dec. 1962. The African Caribbean crewman is a point of note.
