LNER designed Thompson 'B1' class 4-6-0 No. 61296. Built by NBL of Glasgow in March 1948 as BR No. E1296 and withdrawn in November 1962. Pictured occupying the Ransomes & Rapier turntable at the north end of York MPD, with a trio of 'Class 40' diesels lurking behind.
