The arrival of the disfiguring overhead catenary is already underway in 1951 at Audenshaw Junction, Guide Bridge in Lancashire. Ex-LNER Thompson 'B1' 61204 passes with a westbound train for Manchester. It was built by NBL of Glasgow in June 1947 and was withdrawn in Nov. 1963.
