Any 1950s photographs of Starbeck's several 'D49' 4-4-0s will nearly always prove the point, showing very well turned out and clean locomotives. A case in point, finds 'D49/2' 62761 'The Derwent' at its home town of Harrogate (Starbeck MPD was on the York route on the outskirts of town).
