Other than 'near' Retford, the exact location of this fine study of ex-LNER Gresley 'A4' 60016 'Silver King' isn't known. No matter, the 'A4s' were such photogenic subjects in any setting! The photograph was taken in July 1954.

John Holland adds" I think it may be around a mile south of Retford station, with the bridge in the background being London Road bridge.
The tall white building near the tree on the horizon would be Whitehouses Pub.
