Before the overhead electric catenary arrived to clutter the scene, the ex-GCR station at Guide Bridge in Manchester could be relied on to regularly see ex-works locos 'running-in' from nearby Gorton. In this 1951 view, the subject is ex-GCR Robinson '8K' (LNER 'O4') 63574 built in Nov. 1912 by NBL of Glasgow as GCR No. 1227 and withdrawn in September 1962.
