In this 1962 scene, the loco yard at York North MPD is host to ex-LNER Thompson A2/3 No. 60524 'Herringbone'. It is in smartly turned-out condition, as is Gresley V2 No. 60903 glimpsed beyond. 60524 was built at Doncaster in Sept. 1947 as LNER No. 524 and was withdrawn in Feb. 1965.
