62748 1950s York Holgate

York's excursion platforms at Holgate have just been passed by this double-headed combo of Gresley 'D49' 4-4-0 'The Southwold' piloting an unidentified Stanier 'Black 5'. The pair will probably be taking the Manchester route via Leeds as this up train appears to be the famed 'Heaton to Red Bank' newspaper vans that often featured pairs of unlikely bedfellows!
