Ex-LNER Gresley A3 No. 60066 'Merry Hampton' is fresh out of Doncaster 'plant' after a general overhaul that lasted from 1th Dec. 1954 to 27th Jan. 1955. It is in absolutely immaculate condition at Doncaster MPD on Sunday 30th January. It will no doubt return to traffic the following day, usually on a 'running-in' turn to Retford. 60066 was built by NBL of Glasgow in July 1924 as LNER No. 2565 and was withdrawn in Sept. 1963.
