Racing south in November 1960 past High Dyke sidings in Lincolnshire, we see ex-LNER Gresley A3 No. 60049 'Galtee More'. It is fresh out of Doncaster works after a general overhaul the previous month, during which the smoke deflectors were fitted. A stirring sight to be sure! 60049 was built at Doncaster in Sept. 1924 as LNER No. 2548 and was withdrawn in Dec. 1962.
