75024 1963-07-25 Barmouth
BR Standard class 4MT 4-6-0 No 75024 leaves Barmouth with the 10.20am to Birkenhead Woodside on July 25, 1963.
Peter Kerslake says "Barmouth must have been one of the most attractive locations on the Cambrian system for the railway photographers of the day. Brian Stephenson has expertly captured Standard 75024 in bright sunshine and with a crisp and clear exhaust as it sets off towards Barmouth viaduct over the Mawddach estuary just a short run ahead.
The waters of Barmouth Harbour and Bay lie to the left whilst Barmouth itself nestles below the high ground on the right and the six span concrete Old Chapel Viaduct has just been crossed by the train and is visible at the rear of the trailing coach."
