BR Bulleid 'Rebuilt Battle of Britain' class 4-6-2 No. 34050 'Royal Observer Corps'. Rebuilt at Eastleigh in August 1958 and withdrawn in August 1965.

The rebuilding of 60 (out of 110) of Oliver Bulleid's striking but flawed 'West Country' & 'Battle of Britain' light Pacifics was undertaken at Eastleigh to Ronald Jarvis' design between 1955 and 1961. This reduced their fuel use by 9per cent and repair costs by a staggering 60 per cent! In shimmering light, 34050's fine lines are accentuated at Salisbury Station on an unrecorded 1960s date.
