The purposeful lines of Maunsell 'S15' 4-6-0 No. 30842 are captured in this late 1950s view. It is leaving Axminster in Devon with a mixed freight. The unusual extended platform of Axminster Station can be seen on the left. 30842 was built at Eastleigh in Aug. 1936 as SR No. 842 and would be withdrawn in Sept. 1965.
