Seen at Ramsgate MPD in Kent is a lovely portrait of ex-SE&CR Wainwright 'L' 31779. This locomotive was shipped in kit form to Ashford in 1914 from the makers Borsig of Germany. Borsig's employees assembled 31779 but the SE&CR witheld payment until 1918 after WW1 hostilities ceased! Photo dated May 1956.
