Before the arrival of the disfiguring overhead catenary, Guide Bridge Station offered the opportunity for fine photographs like this take there in 1951. Ex-LNER Gresley 'V2' 60870 is about to depart for Manchester whilst some platform remediation is being done in readiness for the forthcoming electrification.
