Ex-North Eastern Railway W.Worsdell 'R' (LNER 'D20') class 4-4-0 No. 62395. Built at Gateshead in June 1907 as NER No. 1260 amd withdrawn in November 1957.

Captured in lovely evening light at Alnmouth in 1957, 62395 receives some attention from the driver. The external appearance of th D20s was noticably different depending on the type of smokebox door fitted, th early small diameter version or later LNER replacement (as here) and the chimneys with or without (as here) a capuchon, a 'wind-jabber' in colloquial parlance! They were wonderful machines in any version.
