Selby MPD was an ex-NER 1871 built double roundhouse shed. Although freight locomotives and tank engines were the principal allocation, a stud of ex-NER W.Worsdell's excellent 'R' (LNER 'D20') 4-4-0s handled local stopping train passenger services. Standing in the yard amidst the poles of ash is 62372 fitted with the later type of smokebox door. Behind, 'Q6' 63382 is getting the attention of a window cleaner!
