Once named 'Capercaille' until July 1942, 'Sir Charles Newton' now adorns the nameplates of 'A4' 60005. Sadly, the Gateshead cleaners (were there any?) are now paying scant attention in the early 1960s to this magnificent machine as it pulls forward to pick up its southbound train.
