At Liverpool Street station on Thursday, 18th August 1960, BR Riddles 'Standard Britannia' class 4-6-2 No. 70011 'Hotspur,' built at Crewe in May 1951, prepares to depart with the 12:40 for Great Yarmouth. Alongside is LNER-designed Thompson 'L1' class 2-6-4 Tank No. 67705, built at Darlington in February 1948 as BR No. E9004, and BR 'Class 30' AIA-AIA diesel No. D5540, built by Brush Traction of Loughborough in July 1959, set to depart with the 12:30 for Clacton-on-Sea. It was withdrawn in December 1967, December 1960, and January 1987 as TOPS No. 31122, respectively.
