GWR Star class 4-6-0 No 4004 Morning Star heads an up stopping train between Teignmouth and Dawlish in c1926.
Peter Kerslake says "4004 was included in the widely published three locomotive line up photograph taken in company with 5010 Restormel Castle and 6000 King George V following the King's return from the United States.
This early view shows the marked absence of any strengthening or protection work on the cliff face, the line at that time clearly open to the danger of any rock falls, not like today when a great deal of protective work has been put into place."
