NER 306 1890s York MPD
North Eastern Railway Fletcher '398' class 0-6-0 No. 306. Built at Gateshead in 1876 and withdrawn prior to 1923.
York MPD in the 1890s is the location for 306. It was one of 325 locomotives in the class and (as was usual for Edward Fletcher's designs) there were a multitude of detail differences, including cab styles, chimney types and even wheel and cylinder sizes. Standardisation was not Fletcher's strong point!
