NER 1535 1910s York MPD

North Eastern Railway T.W. Worsdell 'F1' (LNER 'D22') class 4-4-0 No. 1535. Built at Gateshead in December 1890 as class 'F' compound, rebuilt as class 'F1' simple in February 1905 and withdrawn in July 1933.

Once the 'F' class 4-4-0s were displaced from top link duties in the 1890s, they were used typically for 'local services. A good example was the Selby allocation which was used for stopping passenger services to Leeds, Wetherby, York, and Bridlington. The 37-strong class became extinct in 1935.
