As a railwayman himself, many of the late Jim Carter's excellent photographs were taken in and around his 'home' shed and workplace at Patricroft MPD in Manchester. This resulted in fine portraits such as this one of ex-LMS Stanier 'Rebuilt Patriot' 45529 'Stephenson'. Taken in 1962.
