At Astley level crossing. Working is the 1D60 17.07 Manchester Exchange to Chester train.
Tony Oldfield also adds that the following train the 1D67 17.35 Manchester Exchange - Llandudno was through to Llandudno.
It is interesting to note that on Mondays this train usually produced a 12A or 68A loco.

1D60 officially became a DMU service in June 1965 but the WTT has a note in small print saying that it runs in steam train timings as do some other workings to Chester, presumably to allow substitution in case of shortages and we can only conclude it returned to steam haulage for a period and this is what we see here in May 1966.
