Looking towards Loch Fleet and ready to leave for Dornoch. There is a paint date of 5-54 on the Meat van which suggests this picture was taken during that year. In itsb early days this engine had been the regular engine for the Strathpeffer branch and carried the name Strathpeffer on its tanks up until 1926. The livery shown dates from a General overhaul at St Rollox in 1949.
