Looking towards Loch Fleet and ready to leave The Mound for Dornoch. There is a paint date of 5-54 on the Meat Van which suggests this picture was taken during that year. In its early days this engine had been regularly employed on the Strathpeffer branch and carried the name Strathpeffer on its tanks until 1926. The livery shown here dates from its final overhaul at St Rollox in 1949. Built 1905; w/d July 1956.
