A long term Holbeck Jubilee. This is East Hyde, just south of Chiltern Green between Luton and Harpenden on the Midland main line. Train is on the up fast. The River Lea and the GNR's Hatfield - Dunstable branch was crossed here by the Midland at a point just behind the train, and that line can just be made out (if you know where to look !) at the right hand edge of the photo. It was a nice spot to spend a few hours on a sunny evening ; now it's all palisade fencing and general awfulness !
