The long and hard winter of 1963 produced the benefit of some excellent opportunities for railway photography. Photographed from Welford Road Bridge just south of Leicester Midland station is ex-LMS Stanier 'Jubilee' 45597 'Barbados'. SIt is in charge of the 09:25 Manchester to St. Pancras express. Friday 25th January 1963.

The bridge parapet is quite high here requiring a ladder so there are not many photos taken at this location. The wagons to the left are in the cattle market reception sidings, the line to the market curving off under the bridge.
