LMS Princess Royal 4-6-2 No 46211 Queen Maud with a Birmingham-Glasgow express passing P'way work at in the 1950s between Elvanfoot and Beattock Summit. It one of the few (only?) hilly parts on the WCML where the HT pylons don't run on the hillside above the railway. The insulators are visible in the distance at the left end of the bridge.
