In store at York South MPD on Friday, 28th August 1959, ex-North Eastern Railway W. Worsdell 'P1' (LNER 'J25') class 0-6-0 No. 65698, built at Gateshead in May 1900 as NER No. 2073. It was withdrawn in September 1959. York South originally consisted of three roundhouses and a small straight shed, constructed between 1841 and 1864 by the Great North of England, York & North Midland, and North Eastern Railways. The sheds fell into dereliction by 1961.
