GER 1311 1901-01 Stratford Works

Great Eastern Railway S.D. Holden 'Y65' (LNER 'F7') class 2-4-2 Tank No. 1311. Built at Stratford in January 1910 and withdrawn in September 1931 as LNER No. 8311.

Only a dozen of these diminutive 2-4-2 Tanks were built, nicknamed 'Crystal Palace Tanks' on account of their large and commodious cabs. They were mainly used in East Anglia but three even ended their days in Scotland!
