1010 1956c Plymouth
Peter Kerslake writes - One of my better efforts with Laira shed's 1010 "County of Caernarvon " in platform eight at Plymouth North Road looking splendid at the head of the strengthening coaches for the 9.30.a.m. from Falmouth which it will add here once the train arrives from Cornwall on the adjacent Platform 7. The neatly chalked 623 Reporting Number had, so I understand, been applied at Laira by means of a stencil, and such nice numbers were noted from time to time and were certainly too good to have been applied freehand! That looks like the driver heading down the platform with a tea urn in his hand, doubtless making his way to the station buffet for a refill. There's clearly plenty of time left as the Express Passenger lamp headcode hasn't yet been sorted by 1010's fireman, and a number of doors on the carriages are still open
