1007 1954c Swindon Works
Peter Kerslake says "Truro shed's 1007 County of Brecknock has been through the Works and is waiting to be reunited with its tender before being used on a few local "Running In" duties prior to its return home to Cornwall.
I think 1007 has been repainted in lined black livery in this view, although the "Counties" in later years were given a lined green livery.
It looks very clean and tidy everywhere, with a couple of ex-works tenders and a 28XX 2-8-0 also visible.
This view provides a good indication of the footplate layout, and I still wonder today why Western enginemen were only afforded a wooden tip up seat, as seen here on the fireman's side, when their colleagues on other Regions had "proper" seats!
