Adlestrop Station, with train
View NW, towards Worcester; ex-Great Western (London etc.) - Didcot - Oxford - Worcester main line. The station was closed on 3/1/66, but the line is again busy nowadays, with the sections singled in the past now all being returned to normal double line. The train is an Up Class E freight typical of the time, headed by 'Hall' 4-6-0 No. 4907 'Broughton Hall' (built 1/29, withdrawn 8/63). The station was immortalised by Edward Thomas in his poem: 'Yes, I remember Adlestrop ...'.
