Great Western Railway Collett 'Hall' class 4-6-0 No. 4950 'Patshull Hall'. Built at Swindon in Aug. 1929 and withdrawn in May 1964. A couple of enthusiasts would appear to have 'cabbed' 4950 at Cardiff Canton MPD in August 1931. Is it their added weight or just an optical illusion that has the tender at a different angle to the engine? For anyone who wants to know - Patshull Hall is a large, Grade 1 listed, Georgian mansion near Pattingham in Staffordshire. Reputedly one of the largest listed buildings in the county.
