An inconveniently sited telegraph pole slightly takes the edge off this otherwise splendid panorama of Drogheda MPD in Co. Louth, Eire. Taken in June 1954, it features Great Northern Railway (Ireland) Railbus No. 1 on the turntable and an unidentified GNR(I) 0-6-0 outside the shed. The railbus had been designed and built at the company's Dundalk Works in November 1934. On the right can be seen the River Boyne Viaduct built in 1855, at that time only the 7th of its kind in the world and regarded as a wonder of the age.
