CDR Railcar 19 1954-06-21 Strabane Station

CDR Railcar 19 1954-06-21 Strabane Station

Strabane Station in Co. Tyrone is the setting for this June 1954 photograph. County Donegal Railway Nasmyth Wilson 2-6-4 Tank No.2 'Blanche' built in 1912 1912 is waiting for Diesel Railcar No. 19 to depart. This had been built by Walker Bros. of Wigan in 1950 it was withdrawn in 1959 but was then sold to the Isle of Man Railway in 1961 with sister engine No. 20 where they are both preserved though (still!) in storage and not yet restored.
n.b. Apologies for any errors in this description, Irish railways are not my strong point but I have tried to provide correct details where known.
